Climb every mountain on the new Focus Jam² 6.7 Nine
The Focus Jam² 6.7 Nine is an adventurous full-suspension e-mountain bike. It features the new top-spec Bosch PerformanceLine CX motor, Bosch 625Wh Powertube battery and 29″ wheels. The frame features Focus’s F.O.L.D. technology and the bike has Rockshox front and rear suspension.
Bosch power
The Jam² 6.7 Nine has the generation 4 Bosch PerformanceLine CX motor. This is the most powerful Bosch motor with assistance of up to 340% in Turbo mode. The Bosch system has 4 selectable levels, starting at Eco (50% assistance). The new design is lighter and smaller than it’s predecessor and features a full size chainring, meaning no resistance when pedaling without assistance. E-MTB assistance mode is selectable from the handlebars – this responds to the rider’s needs and will switch seamlessly between Tour and Turbo mode as needed.
The battery is a 625Wh Powertube. This will give you a realistic, real-world range of around 60 miles in mixed assistance levels and varied terrain. In Eco mode you could achieve considerably more.
The display on the handlebars is the Bosch Purion.
What else?
The Jam² range has slightly more purposeful geometry than the Thron². This means a bit more sharpness and dynamic attack on the trails and technical sections. Focus have engineered this bike to master all terrain and it really can take you anywhere. You get RockShox Recon RL forks with 150mm travel on the front (compared to 130mm on the Thron²) and a Rockshox Deluxe Select shock on the rear. 29″ wheels help flatten the terrain, shod with Maxxis Recon tyres that are 2.6 inches wide.
The gears are Shimano SLX 12 speed.
The brakes are Shimano – hydraulic disc with BR-MT520 4-pot calipers.
In conclusion
The Focus Jam² 6.7 Nine full-suspension e-MTB is a bike for serious fun. The understated, stealthy looks hide a high-spec, highly capable machine. There are a few significant upgrades over the Thron² 6.7 – larger battery, more suspension travel and some uprated components. The bike is also potentially very versatile as there is an option to add any of the EQP features – pannier rack, mudguards, a stand and lights. Any of these can be ordered at point of purchase, or fitted at a later date.
