Ride like the Dutch!
Gazelle bikes are made in Holland and they have been making them now for over 100 years. They are the premium brand in Holland and have the honour of a Royal seal of approval, so their full name is Royal Dutch Gazelle. The Dutch consider their bikes to be more than just a leisure item; it is their primary form of transport and they build them to last with extensive testing carried out during the manufacturing process in their factory in Holland.
The Paris C7 HMB It has a bright LED front light and a rear light at the back of the rack, both of which are powered by the battery. The bike is fitted with a Dutch style AXA rear wheel lock or café lock. This means if you are just popping to the shop, then you can use this simple lock rather than have to carry about a monster lock. However if you are leaving the bike for more than just a few minutes an additional lock is always advised. A plug-in lock can be added as an option so that the bike can be secured to a stationary object.
Gazelle tend to focus on comfort and reliability ahead of performance, so you get a comfortable saddle, an upright riding position and easily adjustable handlebars. Suspension adds to the smooth ride. The stopping power is ensured by the Magura hydraulic rim brakes that are powerful and reliable and are fitted to a number of the best electric bikes.
Gears are 7 speed Nexus Hub. The advantage of hub gears is that you can change gear when stationary. The chain is fully enclosed which extends it’s life and reduces the need for maintenance/lubrication.
The Paris C7 HMB has a Bosch Active Line motor. It’s extremely quiet, smooth and is always there when you need it. We have this bike with the 500Wh battery, mounted in carrier behind the seat. A realistic range estimate for this battery size on this bike is over 50 miles, using mixed assistance levels and a variety of terrain.
Gazelle’s confidence in the quality of their bikes is backed up by a 10 years warranty on the frames, 5 years on suspension front forks and 2 years on all other components.
