Great Gravel Bike from Moustache
The Moustache Dimanche 29.3 Gravel is the perfect machine to take advantage of the relatively new genre of Gravel bikes. A combination of a beautifully looking machine, Moustache quality, Bosch power from the Performance Line motor and a really light total package of 18.9 Kg.
The Electric Parts
This bike has the Bosch Performance Line motor with 65Nm torque and up to 300% assistance. The system has 4 levels (plus Off), ranging from 50% in Eco up to 300% in Turbo. One of the reasons why the Bosch system is so good, is that the motor responds to how you you pedal, giving you less assistance when you’re pedalling lightly and more help when you need it. It makes the bike feel responsive and integrated to your ride – helping you rather than taking over. It gives a natural feeling, like it’s you doing all the work, even when the motor is taking quite a bit of the load.
The battery is 500 watt hour, capable of around a realistic, real-world 50 miles, in different levels of assistance and varying terrain.
The display on the bike is the Purion. This combines the control for the bike and the display in one unit. It is very easy to use and the digits are large and clear.
The Bike
Firstly it is a great looking bike and the colour is a really nice pastel green.
The weight saving is achieved by full carbon forks and hydroformed aluminium alloy tubes with variable thickness. There is also flex in the seatstays and the centre of gravity is kept as low as possible by the positioning of the battery in the frame.
The tyres are 700 x 50 with gravel tread – giving grip and confidence on a great variety of surfaces and also due to their higher volume, absorbing a lot of roughness. There are mounts for mudguards and luggage rack. The Dimanche 9.3 Gravel comes with flared aluminium gravel bars, giving control as well as a variety of options to maintain comfort.
Conclusion
