Description
Function and Style from Scott
The Scott Sub Tour eRide 20 Men (that’s what Scott call it!) combines practical features with attention to detail. It’s a perfect all-round urban / city / trekking / tourer.
Bosch PowerTube
The Bosch PowerTube has been around for a couple of years now. It weighs in at just 2.8kg and is one of the lightest batteries on the market, further reducing its impact on the overall feel of the bike. Despite its modest design, it still packs impressive capacity – the 500Wh on offer should be more than enough to power you through even the most demanding of rides. The battery is easy to remove and insert, popping out of the frame when unlocked. It can be charged on or off the bike.
The battery will give you a range of about 50 miles. This is not a ‘best case’ but is the average mileage that you should expect from the battery assuming mixed use of the levels of assist and a varying terrain.
Bosch ActiveLine Plus motor
The Scott Sub Tour eRide 20 Men bike has the Bosch ActiveLine Plus motor. Delivering up to 50Nm of torque, just when you need it most. Power is smooth, quiet and very reliable. One of the pluses of this motor is no internal resistance, so you’re free to pedal to your heart’s content. There are 4 levels of selectable assistance via the Purion control on the handlebars. The top level – Turbo, will add up to 250% of your effort to help you up even the toughest slopes.
Frame Components
The Scott Sub Tour eRide 20 has 9-speed Shimano gears with 11-34 tooth cassette. The brakes are Shimano hydraulic disc BR-M200 – very efficient and reliable. The handlebar stem is adjustable and the bike also features rack, mudguards and an integrated frame lock. The Lezyne LED lights are particularly good on this bike and run from the main battery.
Conclusion
The Scott Sub Tour eRide 20 Men is a very smart looking urban e-bike. It’s tough Schwalbe 50c tyres will handle any surface and because they are relatively wide they make for a very comfortable ride. Scott are very good at producing stylish looking bikes and they don’t skimp on the components. It’s often the way that the photos don’t do justice to the quality of the finish and the choice of colours. That’s definitely true here – we’d highly recommend a viewing to see this metallic green beauty for yourself. This could be the bike that has everything you need for years to come.
